The group, which included some future Jumbos, also took a tour of the facility. Jumbos met prior to the game at the Big Cat Court for a picnic and to socialize. Jan Alpert, J84, event coordinator, wrote us that there was a good combination of schools, years and parents. There was also a lot of excitement about future events among the alumni who attended. Let's plan the next event!

CONNECTICUT On September 24, about 85 alumni and friends from the Connecticut Tufts Alliance met at the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington, Connecticut, to hear Professor Barbara Ehrlich White, Tufts Department of Classics and Art History, speak about impressionism. The talk focused on the personal connections among several of the best-known impressionist painters, including Renoir, Manet, Cassatt, Degas and Pissarro, and how they influenced each other's styles. The Hill-Stead was designed by and was the residence of one of America's first female architects, Theodate Pope Riddle, and today the museum is set up very much the way it looked when her family lived there. Nick Merritt, A80, wrote to tell us that the event was a huge success.

WASHINGTON, D.C. The Washington Tufts Alliance spent a wonderful evening at the Costa Rican Embassy hosted by His Excellency Jaime Daremblum, Ambassador from Costa Rica. Jumbos received a warm welcome from the staff of the embassy and dined on exquisite food and wine from Costa Rica.
