Animal Care Transformed

In December 2013, the Amelia Peabody Charitable Fund issued a challenge to Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine: raise $5 million by the end of 2014 to renovate and expand the Foster Hospital for Small Animals, and the fund will donate another $2.5 million. Animal lovers came through in spades. With the challenge met, the Foster Hospital will enjoy the following upgrades:

  • Larger, more comfortable reception areas with more natural light for companion animals
  • Twenty-five percent more exam rooms, all state-of-the-art
  • New and larger treatment rooms for specialty care services in ophthalmology, cardiology, neurology, and dermatology
  • A reflection space where people can make decisions regarding a pet’s care

These improvements will ensure the future of compassionate animal care in New England.
