Glaser, a noted political scientist who has been serving as dean ad interim of Tufts’ School of Arts and Sciences, is the new leader of the university’s largest and oldest school. Albright to speak at Commencement Madeleine Albright, the first woman to serve as U.S. secretary of state, will deliver the commencement address at Tufts University on May 17. Chief Diversity Officer Appointed When Mark Brimhall-Vargas arrives on campus on April 6 as the university’s chief diversity officer, it will be a natural step in a career that has been devoted to diversity, inclusion, and social justice. “I’ve been working on these issues my whole life,” says Brimhall-Vargas, the deputy chief diversity officer at the University of Maryland at College Park. “I feel like I’m walking into an institution that has done its homework.” The hiring was a key recommendation of the Tufts Council on Diversity, chaired by President Anthony P.
