She will be among six recipients of honorary degrees. full story Chief Diversity Officer Appointed When Mark Brimhall-Vargas arrives on campus on April 6 as the university’s chief diversity officer, it will be a natural step in a career that has been devoted to diversity, inclusion, and social justice. “I’ve been working on these issues my whole life,” says Brimhall-Vargas, the deputy chief diversity officer at the University of Maryland at College Park. “I feel like I’m walking into an institution that has done its homework.” The hiring was a key recommendation of the Tufts Council on Diversity, chaired by President Anthony P.
