Tufts Alumni

A Special Farewell

Gail Lucien, Associate Director, Special Events, in the Office of Alumni Relations for 17 years, was honored with a Tufts Service Citation on August 31, on the occasion of her retirement. Lauded as a "shining light on Tufts' Hill," by Susan Miller J70, G73, Chair of the Alumni Council Award Commitee, Gail was recognized as the "gracious influence" behind the planning and executing of events such as Homecoming, Tuftonia's Day, Alumni Weekend, the Legacy reception and more than 1,000 Class Reunion activities large and small. Over the years, she has worked with countless volunteers and her "good counsel and judgment" is recognized by legions of alumni. "Your generous gifts of time and spirit to Tufts and her alumni are deeply appreciated, gratefully acknowledged and strongly applauded by the University and all the alumni who have had the good fortune to know and work with you through your very productive years," read the citation. "Seventeen years ago you arrived as a Tufts employee. And now you leave as one of us. Our heartfelt thanks and godspeed as you move onto new endeavors."
