Tufts Alumni
Book Prize
The first Tufts University Book Prize was awarded to Armen Nercessian,
a junior at Arlington High School in Arlington, MA, on June 8. The
award honors outstanding high school juniors who possess two qualities
embodied by all Tufts students: academic excellence and a commitment
to service. The award was presented by the Tufts University Alumni
Association (TUAA) and funded by three Arlington High School grads:
Andrew Castiglioni, A99, Maura Carney, J99, and Dominic Kallas,
E99.
"This award would not have been possible without the enormous
effort and support of the TUAA president Elliott Lerman, E65,"
said Castiglioni. "It is our hope that the Tufts Book Prize
given at Arlington High School will serve as a model to build upon
for many other alumni. The prize enhances the image of Tufts, connects
highly qualified prospective applicants to Tufts and provides another
way for alumni to become involved in their alma mater."
